Slinky By Tuesday 30th June 2026: Back to Slimming World, Doc Martin and Dog of the Week
This week on Slinky By Tuesday, we finally returned to the scales after a few difficult weeks with the Furry T's.
As many of you know, we lost our beloved beagle Cyril earlier this month, and shortly afterwards his "other half", our gorgeous Mabel, suffered a seizure. It's been an emotional few weeks, but if success is about getting up one more time than you fall down, it was time to face the music.
Katie had gained 3½lbs over three weeks, while Lucy was up just 1lb. Considering we can both achieve that in a single all-inclusive holiday, we're taking it on the chin and dancing into next week with a brand-new mantra:
With temperatures hotter than Satan's balls (Katie's words, not Lucy's), we also needed something suitably seaside to cool us down, so we've finally discovered Doc Martin... only 22 years late!
Our biggest disagreement? Lucy's irritating habit of Googling the ages of everyone in the programme and delighting in telling Katie she's now older than they were when it was filmed. Katie threatened to block Lucy from IMDb altogether... until Lucy gleefully informed her that Kay Adams recently revealed she's now older than Margaret Thatcher was when she interviewed her on Loose Women. Lucy considers that a slam dunk. Katie remains unconvinced.
The heat also meant there could only be one winner of Dog of the Week... all of them. The Furry T's have been exemplary, sensibly stretching out on cool tiled floors, paddling in their pools and keeping hydrated.
Well... almost all of them.
Dudley remains under investigation due to his continued commitment to shenanigans.
Finally, we were thrilled to announce our brand-new Matinees of Murders and Mysteries series, launching at the Bonington Theatre on 18th October with the wonderful Carol Ann Lee. Combined with An Evening with Sam McAlister on 3rd October, it's shaping up to be a very exciting month.
