Ladies Day at Southwell Racecourse – The Most Glamorous Day of the Year is Almost Here!

If there’s one date in the Nottinghamshire social calendar that gives us all permission to dress up, get the girls together and be just a little bit fabulous, it’s Ladies Day at Southwell Racecourse.

And the good news? It’s happening THIS SUNDAY!

On Sunday 16th August, Southwell Racecourse hosts one of its biggest events of the year – Ladies Day 2026 – bringing together racing, fashion, fizz, friends and a brilliant party atmosphere.

So… what are you wearing?

Let’s face it, Ladies Day is about the racing – but it’s also definitely about the outfits.

It’s the day to dig out the dress you’ve been saving, find the heels you’ll probably regret by 5pm, add a fabulous hat or fascinator and go for it.

And if you think your outfit is particularly special, make sure you enter the Style Awards. There’s a £500 cash prize for the overall winner, and entering couldn’t be easier – just head to the flower wall and have your photograph taken.

But one of the things we love about Ladies Day is that you can make it whatever you want it to be. Go all-out glamorous, find something fabulous on the high street, wear something you already love or simply come along for the atmosphere.

Racing… then a party!

Of course, there’s plenty happening away from the fashion too.

Gates open at 11am, with six flat races scheduled across the afternoon and the first race expected at around 2.35pm.

And when the racing finishes, nobody needs to go home!

This year, Marvin Humes will be taking to the decks for a live DJ set after racing, turning Ladies Day into a proper summer party. There’ll also be a DJ playing before and between the races, so the atmosphere starts long before the final horse crosses the line.

It’s exactly the kind of event we love – something that feels like a real occasion, right here in Nottinghamshire.

From Ladies Day to Newsnight…

Once you’ve recovered from Ladies Day, there’s another date for the diary!

On Saturday 3rd October, Trinder & Trinder welcomes former BBC Newsnight producer Sam McAlister to Nottingham for a fascinating evening exploring what really goes on behind the scenes when securing some of the biggest interviews in the world.

Sam was the producer who negotiated the infamous Prince Andrew Newsnight interview and has worked on interviews involving everyone from Bill Clinton and Elon Musk to Julian Assange and Stormy Daniels.

It promises to be a fascinating, funny and revealing evening about persuasion, negotiation, rejection and what happens when somebody finally says YES.

And we couldn't be happier to have Southwell Racecourse supporting us as our overall event sponsor.

So, this Sunday we'll be raising a glass to them.

Preferably while wearing something fabulous.
