That's why we're thrilled to announce the very first guest in our brand-new Matinees of Murders and Mysteries series, coming to the Bonington Theatre in Arnold this autumn.
On Sunday 18th October 2026, we're delighted to welcome bestselling true crime and historical author Carol Ann Lee, who will take us deep into one of Britain's most infamous witch trials, and her book; Something Wicked: The Lives, Crimes and Deaths of the Pendle
As Halloween approaches, it might seem fitting to fill an afternoon with witches... but don't expect pointy hats, broomsticks and spells (although we'll happily admit to having a soft spot for Hocus Pocus)..... but it might be because we fashion a cheeseboard each year in their honour.

Carol Ann Lee is the perfect person to guide us through this remarkable story. Best known for her bestselling books on true crime and historical biography, she has spent her career uncovering the facts behind some of history's most compelling cases. Her meticulous research and engaging storytelling have seen her books adapted for television, including White House Farm and A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story, and now she's bringing her expertise to Nottingham for what promises to be a fascinating afternoon.
