The latest episode of Slinky By Tuesday is full of honest life chat, sisterly chaos, questionable diet logic, dogs and giggles.
This week’s episode follows another busy few days in the world of Trinder & Trinder, starting with the most important event of the week: Lucy’s birthday.
A Birthday Built on Potatoes
In celebration of Lucy's 16th anniversary of the her 30th birthday, and in true Trinder style, the celebrations began with a potato buffet.
Katie lovingly created a birthday spread featuring roasted potatoes, hash browns, herby potatoes, Jersey Royals and various other carb-based delights. There were also prawns and tomatoes, although Lucy is very clear that potatoes remain the true star of any meal.
The birthday celebrations continued with a trip to Bar Serenity, where cocktails were enjoyed on a Tuesday afternoon; which, as everyone knows, means the calories do not count. Especially during birthday week.

Sound Baths and Suburban Detective Work
We also shared our latest experience at a sound bath.
For the uninitiated, a sound bath involves lying down while someone plays singing bowls, gongs and calming sounds around you. Katie describes it as her ideal gym class, because you lie down and nobody expects you to do burpees.
We are now converts, although possibly more curious about the cost of the bowls than the spiritual science behind them.
We checked, they are mega expensive just as Nigel in the class reckoned they were!!
There was also a slight detour into neighbourhood nosiness, including mystery bins, house renovations and the important journalistic duty of knowing what is happening on your own street..... so Katie says!!!!

The Weekly Weigh-In
In the spirit of accountability, Slinky By Tuesday has introduced a weekly weigh-in.
Listeners are invited to join in too, either using their real name or a nickname, and simply share whether they have lost, gained or stayed the same.
Despite birthday cocktails, potato buffets and general celebrations, Lucy and Katie both had surprisingly good results at Slimming World, with Lucy losing 3lbs and Katie losing 6lbs. Neither of them were entirely sure they deserved it, but they are absolutely taking the win.
The Secret Diary of Dudley the Puppy
No episode of Slinky By Tuesday would be complete without a visit from Dudley.
This week’s diary entry covered Valentine’s Day, Dudley’s breakthrough moment of learning how to get onto the sofa, his love of toys, treats and Cyril, and his growing reputation as a dog with big personality and very short legs.
Listeners also learned more about Dudley’s time at dog training, where he earned the title of “best smeller” after locating old party food in a church hall with suspicious speed.
Quite frankly, if there is a future in canine smell consultancy, Dudley may already have found his calling.
A Sneaky Clip from Sam McAlister
The episode also gave listeners an exciting preview of An Evening with Sam McAlister, taking place on 3 October at the Albert Hall in Nottingham.
Sam McAlister, the producer who secured the now infamous Prince Andrew Newsnight interview, joined Katie for a catch-up ahead of the event. In the clip, Sam talks about sitting just 15 feet behind Prince Andrew during what has become one of the most talked-about interviews in British television history.
She reflects on the surreal experience of hearing the Pizza Express Woking reference in real time, and hints that there is much more to reveal on the night.
The evening promises behind-the-scenes stories from Sam’s career, including not only Prince Andrew, but also figures such as Julian Assange, Stormy Daniels, Bill Clinton and Elon Musk.
There will also be audience questions, limited meet-and-greet tickets, signed books and, if Sam has anything to do with it, martinis on stage.
Tickets are available through TicketSource by searching An Evening with Sam McAlister, or via the Trinder & Trinder website.
Coming Next Week: Line Dancing
As always, we have more adventures planned and this week we're off to try Line Dancing... a bit of body magic.
There may or may not be cowboy boots. There may or may not be hats. There will almost certainly be stories.
