What do a mischievous puppy, a Barry Manilow tribute act, line dancing, book club and a trip to McDonald's have in common?
Not much, unless you're listening to Slinky By Tuesday.
This week's episode is a perfect example.
After taking a slightly different approach last week following the loss of beloved family beagle Cyril, we're back with all the usual features that listeners have come to love.
There's Dog of the Week, the latest instalment of The Secret Diary of Dudley the Puppy, book club chat, updates on our ongoing attempts to become a bit more "slinky", and a surprising new obsession with line dancing.
Remembering Cyril
The episode begins with a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has sent messages, cards and gifts following Cyril's passing.
The support from friends and listeners has been incredible and has been a real comfort during a difficult couple of weeks. From beautiful handmade keepsakes from
to thoughtful cards and flowers, we're continually reminded how lucky we are to have such a wonderful community around the podcast.

Dog of the Week
This week the competition for Dog of the Week has been non existent. Most of the furry T's ended up getting banned.
Dudley has entered his teenage troublemaker era, Mabel is attempting to reorganise everyone's sleeping arrangements, and Clarence has taken up interior design by scattering toys throughout the house.
This week's winner, however, is Barney, the calm, charismatic leader who seems determined to keep everyone together.

The Unexpected Joy of Line Dancing
In one of the more surprising developments of 2026, we have become line dancers.
What started with the discovery of a jacket potato and line dancing event has evolved into weekly classes, sweaty enthusiasm and a growing appreciation for cowboy boots.
We're still learning the steps, but we're having an absolute blast.

Book Club Adventures
This month's book club theme was "Classics", which led to a wonderfully eclectic selection of reads.
From Great Expectations and The Thorn Birds to The Vagina Monologues, Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus and even a Mills & Boon novel, the discussion covered everything from literary masterpieces to accidental billionaire pregnancies.
As all good book club discussions should. If you'd like to get involved July's theme is Taylor Jenkins Reid. Just email in to Slinkybytuesday@gmail.com and let us know what you read, what you thought and the score out of 10, so we know whether it's rubbish or not.... Not that queen Taylor would ever write rubbish.

Barry Manilow (Almost)
This week we also headed to the Mansfield Palace Theatre for a Barry Manilow tribute night.
While the performer may not have looked much like Barry, the sequins, singalongs and sheer enthusiasm more than made up for it.
It's a reminder that some of the best nights out aren't necessarily the ones you expect.
Just one question if a Barrry Manilow tribute act doesn't look like Barry and sings someone elses songs... is it still a Barry Manilow tribute?
