Because We've Got Stuff To Do Tomorrow

Last weekend, what started as a fairly innocent trip into Nottingham turned into something of a revelation.

Given that Katie turns 50 this year, you may have guessed, we grew up in the 90's. Give us a bit of Britpop, some dance classics and a questionable fashion choice, and we're instantly transported back to the days where the Now That's What I Call Music series was still in double figures.

So when we spotted an afternoon 90s event at Binks Yard Nottingham, we thought we'd give it a go.... and we really enjoyed it!

The music was brilliant, the atmosphere was fantastic, and perhaps most importantly, everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there.

The best bit, was that even if we'd have wanted to, we couldn't stay out until the early hours... this was a day sesh event.... and quite honestly we love this revolution... because we're lucky enough to have stuff to do tomorrow.

By early evening we'd had a great time, sung along to songs, and still made it home at a sensible hour.... well we went to Cleaver and Wake next door, but that's another story.... spoiler alert, the food was lush!

For years, it feels like entertainment has been built around the idea that everything worthwhile happens in the evening. But increasingly, folks are moving away from this notion.

Afternoon events offer something different. They're accessible, relaxed and often appeal to people who love getting out and trying new things but don't want to miss Love Island.

And that's exactly why we're so excited about the next chapter for Trinder & Trinder.

Over the past few months we've been speaking to authors, historians, crime experts and some genuinely fascinating people. The response has been incredible, and it's led us to develop a brand new series of events that we're currently working hard behind the scenes to bring to life.

There unfortunately won't be any Vengaboys, but the vision is simple: captivating stories, fascinating conversations and memorable experiences, all delivered in a format that allows people to enjoy an afternoon out and still be home in time for tea.

We're not quite ready to reveal everything yet, but if you've enjoyed Slinky By Tuesday and Hauntings and Hobnobs, you'll know we love a good mystery, are fascinated by true crime, history or extraordinary stories, we think you're going to like what we've got planned.

So whilst our afternoon in Nottingham may have started with a bit of 90s nostalgia and accidental bucket hat, it ended with a renewed belief that afternoon entertainment is having its moment.

Stay tuned. Some exciting announcements are coming very soon.
