A New Week, New Adventures and Some Exciting Things on the Horizon

There is something rather lovely about a Monday morning.

Not necessarily the alarm clock, the overflowing inbox, or the realisation that you probably shouldn't have eaten that extra slice of cake over the weekend. But the feeling that a brand-new week is stretching out ahead of you, full of possibilities.

At Trinder & Trinder, we love a fresh start.

Every week brings a new story, a new idea, a new event to plan or a new person to meet.

Whether we're recording podcasts, organising live events, chatting to fascinating guests or simply finding ourselves unexpectedly taking up line dancing (as has happened recently), we firmly believe life is at its best when you're curious enough to try something new.

And speaking of exciting things...

Matinees of Murders and Mysteries Are Coming Soon

Over the last few months we've been quietly working away behind the scenes on a brand-new series of events that we're incredibly excited to share with you.

Matinees of Murders and Mysteries will bring together some fascinating guests from the worlds of true crime, mystery, history and the supernatural for a series of afternoon events at the Bonington Theatre.

Think compelling interviews, behind-the-scenes stories, audience questions and the opportunity to hear directly from people who have dedicated their lives to uncovering mysteries, investigating crimes and telling extraordinary stories.

We've already started speaking to some fantastic guests and can't wait to reveal more details in the coming weeks.

If you've ever found yourself glued to a true crime documentary, fascinated by historical mysteries, or disappearing down an internet rabbit hole at midnight trying to solve a case from 1987, then these events might be right up your street.

Watch this space.

An Evening with Sam McAlister

Before that, however, we're counting down to one of the biggest events we've ever organised.

On 3rd October, we'll be welcoming the incredible Sam McAlister to Nottingham for what promises to be a fascinating evening.

Sam is the former BBC Newsnight producer behind some of the most talked-about interviews in modern journalism, including the now infamous Prince Andrew interview. Her extraordinary career inspired the Netflix film Scoop, where she was portrayed by Billie Piper.

Recently, Katie had the pleasure of sitting down with Sam for a special episode of Slinky By Tuesday, and it quickly became one of our favourite conversations.

We talked about journalism, perseverance, negotiating with some of the most powerful people in the world, and what really happens behind the scenes when major interviews are being secured.

If you haven't listened yet, we'd highly recommend giving it a listen.

And if you're interested in journalism, media, producing, storytelling, or simply love hearing from fascinating people, we'd love to see you in October.

Here's to a Week of Possibility

As we head into another busy week, we're reminding ourselves that some of the best things in life start with a simple "why not?"

Why not start writing that book?

Why not try that class?

Why not book the ticket?

Why not say yes to something unexpected?

After all, that's how most of our favourite adventures have started.

Whatever you've got planned this week, we hope it brings plenty of laughter, a little bit of inspiration and perhaps even a mystery or two.

See you soon.
